Job Summary
The Admissions Counselor II provides advanced professional knowledge to entry-level recruiters, assists incoming freshman and transfer students throughout the application process to UHD, and answer questions and provide necessary information. Each Admissions Counselor II is assigned a specific territory and is responsible for recruitment efforts and application processing within that designated area.
Duties
- Manages and recruit from an assigned territory of high schools.
- Assists in developing and implementing strategic outreach plans to meet enrollment goals.
- Monitors application progress and conduct proactive outreach to incomplete applicants.
- Provides timely reports to high school counselors and admission leadership.
- Advises prospective and current students on admissions requirements and enrollment steps via virtual, email, phone, and in-person communication.
- Represents the university at recruitment events and outreach programs.
- Assists in coordination of events and admission audits.
- Assists in coordinating the utilization of CRM and reporting tools to track territory performance and recruitment activity.
- Supports, mentor, and provide guidance to entry-level recruiters, including sharing best practices, assisting with territory planning, and supporting onboarding efforts.

Required Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of job experience
License/Certification:
- Must Maintain a valid, current driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in admissions and/or recruitment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the admissions process at UHD, and of the related trends, issues, and accepted practices.
Skills:
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in MS Office and PeopleSoft.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; good customer service skills.
Abilities:
- Ability to build a rapport with prospective students
- Ability to manage an assigned territory of high schools
- Ability to represent UHD at high schools and at career fairs
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
Work Location and Physical Demands
Primary Work Location:

Spends the majority of time conducting field-based recruitment efforts, with remaining responsibilities carried out in a campus and in-office environment to support recruitment, outreach, and operational needs.
Physical Demands:

Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements and has minimal exposure to physical risks. Must be able to stand for periods of time when speaking to students in scheduled visits (50%), sitting (20%), walking (10%). Must be able to lift up to 10lbs. Must be able to drive within a high school territory.
