Scope of Responsibilities
At UHD, Dr. Liu serves as the academic and administrative leader of the Accounting and International Business Department. She is responsible for carrying out the mission and vision of Marilyn Davies College of Business at the department level, which includes AACSB accreditation maintenance, academic leadership, enrollment management, program development, teaching and course assessment, faculty and staff evaluations, budget and operating management, and other administrative duties.
Dr. Liu earned a Bachelor of Arts in Arabic Languages and Cultures from Peking University, Master of Business Administration from Rice University and Doctor of Philosophy in Accounting from the University of Houston.
Dr. Liu has several years of experience in strategic planning and budgeting, data analysis for decision making, operating analysis and implementation, and new faculty recruitment and mentoring. Her experience also includes work in AACSB accreditation maintenance, academic standards adoption, graduate course development, assessment, and students advising. Dr. Liu teaches financial accounting, managerial accounting and auditing courses. She was identified as “the one person at UHD who has made the most significant, positive contribution to their education” in students Senior Survey in 2016.
