Scope of Responsibilities
At UHD, Ms. Torres is responsible for administering the external auxiliary contracts including dining services, bookstore operations and vending services ensuring contract compliance. She oversees the administration of internal auxiliary operations including Parking and Transportation Services and Shipping, Receiving and Mail Service. Ms. Torres also oversees the management of the business operations for the central office for the Division of Administration and Finance.
Ms. Torres earned her Master of Business Administration from Texas Woman's University and Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston-Downtown.
Mary Torres has more than 22 years of experience in the financial division in a university environment. Ms. Torres began that experience in the Budget Office where she developed first-hand knowledge of how the university funding was budgeted and expended. Her responsibilities as a Business Manager for a fairly large division allowed her to provide financial and personnel guidance to the departments reporting to the division.
