Scope of Responsibilities
In her role at UHD, Dr. Burnett-Sánchez serves as Chair of the Department of Urban Education where she facilitates the management of the department, advocate for faculty, represent administration and provide a vision for the department. As a faculty member, she teaches courses, engage in service as well as scholarly and creative activities.
Educational Qualifications
Dr. Burnett-Sánchez earned a Doctor of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, Master of Arts in Education from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Carnegie Mellon University. She also holds a Teacher Certification: Generalist 1-6 and Bilingual 1-6.
Professional Experience
In 2009, Dr. Burnett-Sánchez joined the UHD faculty as an assistant professor in the Department of Urban Education. Over the past 12 years, she has earned the rank of Associate Professor and Assistant Department Chair.
