Scope of Responsibilities
At UHD, Dr. Finch serves as the Assistant Dean for the University College. As the Assistant Dean, Dr. Finch is responsible for overseeing the management of the degree programs and assists with the marketing of the degree programs. Dr. Finch coordinates advising and mentoring activities for the degree programs and works closely with students on academic probation and suspension. He provides leadership on a number of institutional initiatives and contributes to a number of spontaneous subgroups designed to solve various admissions, advising, and student records-related problems. Dr. Finch also serves on various administrative councils and committees as needed. He responds directly to student complaints and/or assists students with unique problems. The Assistant Dean oversees the two degree programs housed in University College: BS- Interdisciplinary Studies and BAAS-Applied Administration. He also oversees the work of the web technical support specialist.
Dr. Finch earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical-Community Psychology from the University of South Carolina, Master of Science in Experimental Psychology from Old Dominion University and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Wake Forest University.
Charlie Finch's experience includes four years as the Assistant Dean for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences as well as ten years as the Program Coordinator for Psychology for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at UHD. His work also includes nine years as an Assistant Professor of Psychology and a Group Exercise Instructor at the University.
