A Message from the Lab Director
Welcome to the Houston Laboratory for Crime and Justice! As a research lab housed in the College of Public Service at the University of Houston-Downtown, the Houston Laboratory for Crime and Justice is dedicated to collaborating with criminal justice agencies and community partners on research projects, policy and program evaluations, and all other endeavors that inform criminal justice decision making and benefit the community at large.
Our faculty subject matter experts specialize in policing, courts, corrections, and social work, and have extensive applied research experiences working with criminal justice agencies and professionals. We have ongoing research projects with local agencies such as the Houston Police Department, the Pasadena Police Department, and two other law enforcement agencies in Harris County. We are here to assist you with data collection and analysis, policy assessment and consultation, program implementation and outcome evaluation, and any other research needs your agency may have.
