LEGACI Student Success Program
The LEGACI Student Success Programs (LSSP) provides all students the tools and support needed for their overall success here at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD). The department also collaborates with UHD’s student support services to develop initiatives that increase the retention and graduation of students. LSSP partners with middle schools, high schools, community colleges, and community agencies to create seamless pathways and transition to UHD. The department offers the following services for students via our LEGACI Student Success Program:
- Admissions Guidance - see UHD Admissions web page for criteria
- Book Scholarships
- Cohort-based Instruction
- Conference Travel
- Financial Aid Guidance
- Free Tutoring, Career Workshops
- Internships and Community Service
Students interested in joining the program are required to meet the following criteria:
- TSI Assessment complete in Reading & Writing
- Obtain at least a 2.8 GPA on Official High School Transcript
- Must be a First-Time Freshman
- Register for the L.E.G.A.C.I. Program Cohort Courses:
- ENG 1301
- HIST 1305
- CRS 1301
- UHD Seminar
The L.E.G.A.C.I. Program supports all majors.
