El Grito de Dolores is open to all UHD students, and it will only take about 15 or 20 minutes. The students will lineup on the staircase and have a guest actor re-create a very brief version of the Grito, and then everyone will give three Viva Mexico's very loudly and throw confetti.

Latinx Mental Health Panel - Participants can enjoy aguas frescas and other goodies as various mental health professionals participate in this Latinx and Hispanic mental health panel.   The panel will aim to increase awareness about how mental health is impacted among the community and discuss different ways to enter different mental health professions such as counseling, social work, psychology professors, and higher education clinical directors.  All are invited!

This special live interview event will put you face-to-face with a member of the legendary Houston Police Department's Chicano Squad, the groundbreaking, all-Latino homicide unit that transformed community policing forever. The discussion will cover the squad's unique history, its important role in community relations, and the personal stories of officers who served.
