Scope of Responsibilities

Dr. Pamplin develop and oversee the Accessible Education Center and assists with institutional student compliance regarding Section 504 and (ADA).  She reviews documentation of disability; including psychological, medical, academic and educational assessments as well as recommends reasonable accommodations for students. Dr. Pamplin coordinates services and equipment necessary for reasonable accommodation, including assistive technology and develops and implements program orientations and other transition and success activities for students with disabilities and their parents. She also hires, trains, and supervise new AEC staff.

Educational Qualifications

Dr. Pamplin earned her Bachelor of Science from McMurray University and Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy from Prairie View A&M University.  She is a licensed professional counselor supervisor and trained mediator.

Professional Experience

Dr. Pamplin has experience providing oversight for counseling and disability support services as well as supervision and oversight for interpreting services and assistive technology. Her experience includes work interpreting policy and procedures, providing community resources, budget management and the facilitation and development of staff development/team building. Dr. Pamplin also has experience reviewing the progress of counselor caseloads to include persistence, retention and success as well as providing counseling to students on disciplinary probation or suspension. She was the lead for the BITAT team.
