Faculty on the tenure track may seek an extension of their probationary period as per PS 10.A.23. Such extensions may include rescheduling of the 2nd and 4th year review timeline as well, and will be determined based on individual faculty requests and circumstances. Such requests, according to policy, must be made in writing and submitted “directly to the provost within six months after the emergency circumstances or personal circumstances occur. We encourage faculty to take precautions to retain all critical research and scholarly creative activity documents in multiple copies. If you are a PI, please contact ORSP with any questions about grant-related timelines or commitments.

Our adjunct faculty are a valued and critical component of our efforts to provide continuity of high-quality education for our students. We ask that they participate fully in preparing for online teaching for as long as is needed, and we encourage them to take full advantage of our resource support structures. Adjuncts should contact their department chairs with any concerns.
