Dr. Toi Durham
Director, Bachelor of Science in NursingNatural SciencesBiography
My nursing journey began almost 30 years ago as a two-time graduate from a Community College with my License Vocational Nursing, shortly followed by my associate degree in nursing. I had wonderful professors and gained mentors in each of these achievements. I gravitated towards many areas in nursing, including Mental Health, Population Health, Public Health, Forensic Nursing, Travel Nursing, Infection control, Foreign Travel, Managed care, and Academia. During this time, I truly learned the art of service and developed an innate desire to continue my education; pursing my master's degree with an emphasis in Nursing Leadership and Administration, and Nurse Educator which led to my career in academia. With a strong desire to serve and represent nursing in a greater capacity, I pursued my Doctoral degree. Nurses are of course life-long learners, over the years my passion for serving others, especially those that suffer with a mental illness diagnosis led me to pursue post certification a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner more recently.
