Dr. Sarah Albrecht is an assistant professor of bilingual education in the Department of Urban Education at the University of Houston-Downtown. She is committed to equitable outcomes for bilingual and heritage language learners through biliteracy and teacher preparation. As such, her research interests include biliteracy, pedagogical translation in bilingual and world language environments, bridging the gap between bilingual education in the primary grades and heritage language education in the secondary grades, and bilingual teacher preparation. Years of classroom experience inform her research and practice. Dr. Albrecht has presented on pedagogical translation at local, national, and international conferences, webinars and workshops.
