Biography

Pat Williams began teaching at UHD in 1990, after having taught previously at Texas Tech University and Wharton County Junior College. He has also served as Associate Vice President for Planning and Institutional Effectiveness and Assistant Chair of the Department of Social Sciences. Dr. Williams teaches courses on learning and behavior, biological psychology, research methods, developmental psychology, history of psychology, and others.

Dr. Williams' primary areas of interest within psychology include behavior analysis; verbal behavior; developmental psychobiology; and the philosophy, theory, and history of psychology. He has published in the areas of verbal behavior (metaphor), psychology of religion, and transpersonal psychology.
