Biography

Luke Fedell started at UHD as a student in the spring of 2002. After graduating in 2006, he went on to Grad School at Texas Tech University where he served as a Graduate Part-Time Instructor of Acting and Movement. He now serves as Lecturer of Theatre here at the University of Houston-Downtown and teaches Acting, Theatre, Movement, Stage Combat, and the Freshman Seminar courses in Theatre.

Experience Qualifications

Luke Fedell is currently a Lecturer of Theatre and Drama at UHD. He has an M.F.A. in Performance & Pedagogy from Texas Tech University. This degree's primary focus is to train working professionals in the field how to specifically teach courses in Theatre, Acting and Directing at the University level. He is also a working professional actor/director and has many international acting credits with the Houston Grand Opera. In addition to acting professionally he works locally as a fight director, set designer, and lighting designer for various theatres and annual music festivals

Research

Luke Fedell is a working Theatre practitioner in Houston and throughout the country. He was most recently seen as performer in the New York premiere of Mieczyslaw Weinberg's The Passenger at the Park Avenue Armory. Luke Fedell is a Certified Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors and is a local Fight Director around the Houston area doing work for Houston Grand Opera, Mildred's Umbrella, Catastrophic Theatre, and Classical Theatre Company. He is currently working on an advanced actor movement training and physical approach to theatre called "Actors are Athletes" that implements athletic training into young actors to promote physical awareness, and characterization through control the body.
