Biography

Dr. Gandy is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Houston-Downtown. Dr. Gandy earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience from Texas A&M University in 2012. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology, with an emphasis in Health Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Texas at Arlington (2012-2016). Dr. Gandy completed his postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine (2016-2019) and the Department of Epidemiology and Cancer Control at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (2020-2023). His research interests broadly involve multimodality neuroimaging (MRI, fMRI, DTI, EEG, fNIRS) and neurocognitive outcomes in clinical populations with cognitive deficits. Dr. Gandy teaches courses on Introduction to Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, and Biological Psychology.
