Biography

My research focus is in partial differential equations and development of numerical methods for their approximate solving. I have published papers in the areas of numerical methods, partial differential equations, gas dynamics, nonlinear analysis, secondary oil recovery, chain vibrations, etc. I presented my research at numerous conferences and seminars at the national and international level. I am very passionate about my teaching and I have taught various mathematics and statistics courses at all levels - from the developmental to graduate. At UHD I proposed and developed a course "Introduction to Topology and Functional Analysis". I have conducted over 20 undergraduate projects / senior projects / directed studies during my time at UHD.

Dr. Jegdic has extensive academic and work experience in mathematics at University of Houston-Downtown, University of Houston, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, & the University of Novi Sad. She has published several articles. She has received various grants related to her research from US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Department of Education, National Science Foundation, etc. Dr. Jegdic has made several presentations which include: The 38th Texas PDE Conference, University of Houston, March 2015 "Talk: Semi-hyperbolic patches for the unsteady transonic small disturbance equation" and Joint Mathematics Meetings, San Antonio, January 2015, "Talk: Two-dimensional Riemann problems for gas dynamics equations."
