Biography

Dr. Pavletich received a Ph.D. in American Literature from the University of Texas. She has taught various levels of developmental and college-level writing for over twenty years at both the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Houston-Downtown. In the past ten years she has focused on eighteenth and nineteenth century American literature, with an emphasis on gender and race.

Dr. Pavletich received a Ph.D. in American Literature from the University of Texas. She has taught various levels of developmental and college-level writing for over twenty years at both the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Houston-Downtown. In the past ten years she has focused on eighteenth and nineteenth century American literature, with an emphasis on gender and race. This work qualifies her to teach 2000-level courses in American literature and upper-division courses in ethnic studies, gender studies, and pre-twentieth century American literature and culture. As an instructor of writing since 1990, and especially as Director of Composition for five years and Assistant Chair of the English Department for two years, she has developed the expertise that has made her a successful instructor of English 1300, 1301, 1302, and 3302.
