Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District Police Department; Cypress, Texas 2017-Present
Chief of Police (July 2017- Present)
• Direct and lead administration, supervision and coordination of departmental activities of the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Police Department
• Management responsibility of 142-member school district police department.
• Responsible for the overall safety and security of 116,300 students, and approximately 17,000 employees located at one of the district 117 school campuses and/or facilities
• Consultant to all school district administrators, directors, associate superintendents, chief officers, and superintendent on public safety concerns
• Plan, coordinate and develop special programs that address department and district needs
• Review emergency management planning and the effectiveness of safety/security plans for individual campuses and the district
• Create strategic plans and department goals that benefit the students, employees, parents, and stakeholders to Cypress-Fairbanks ISD

• Create strategic plans that ensure a close community police partnership in identifying and resolving community/neighborhood programs; meet with community groups and others to facilitate close working relationships
• Creation and oversight of departmental budget

• Manage, direct and train a staff of 67 Commissioned Officers and 35 regulatory and support personnel while supervising five (5) Bureau Commanders within five (5) bureaus: Uniformed Services Bureau, Specialized Operations Bureau, Emergency Management Bureau, Life Safety Systems Bureau, and the Administrative Service Bureau
• Delegate staff responsibilities; evaluate performance and mediate conflicts as well as prevent and detect serious breaches of departmental policy fraud and abuse
• Review, analyze and monitor each bureau's budget; collaborate with heads of the bureaus and set strategies for operations, identify priorities, manpower allocation and ensure they work with neighboring enforcement agencies as needed
• Manage day-to-day operations with exemplary leadership and sound organizational oversight that promotes efficient and effective operations
• Oversight of District's Life Safety Systems to include intrusion, fire alarm, fire suppression, video surveillance, and card access systems
• Develop means and methods that identify community issues and develop and manage programs that address community needs, including law enforcement, criminal investigations, order maintenance and community crime prevention concerns, ensuring everyone is on the same page
• Create strategic plans that ensure a close community police partnership in identifying and resolving community/neighborhood programs; meet with community groups and others to facilitate close working relationships
