Emergency Management

Welcome to the Emergency Management website for University of Houston-Downtown. An emergency management system is intended to mitigate the effects of, prepare for, response to and recover from disasters.  While an individual is ultimately responsible for his/her own safety,  training and exercising together creates a resilient community. 
Situational awareness and sharing information are important tools in all phases of emergency management. UHD uses many methods to notify the campus community of emergency situations. In the event of an emergency, the University of Houston - Downtown will notify the campus via a combination of emails, text messages, and digital displays. Notifications for public viewing will be published to the UHD Home Page, UHD Facebook, UHD Twitter and UHD_Alerts ​on Twitter. 

Receiving Notifications/Alerts
CAMPUS MEMBERS: Personal contact information must be current to receive emergency texts and/or notifications to a personal email account. Update your contact information using these links:

PUBLIC ACCESS:  You can receive alerts via Twitter's "Fast Follow" without having a Twitter account.  Just text "follow UHD_A​lerts" to 404​​04. You will receive a text message confirming your request!
