Alternative Energy Solutions

The oil’s running out. The clock is ticking. We need new sources of energy. Wind Power, Solar Power, Geothermal Power -- enter a world of innovation, imagination, and learning. You’ll use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine basic solutions related to alternative energy and environmental issues. Many different engineering disciplines are required to come up with best solutions, including Environmental, Civil, Chemical, and Industrial Engineering. Houston, the Energy Capital of the World, is counting on budding Engineers like yourself to create your own hands-on solutions to pipelines, oil spills, water turbines, wind turbines, and conservation of heat energy, as you learn what these different types of Engineers do. So roll up your sleeves, put your mind to the problem, and maybe you’ll create the world’s answer to dwindling oil reserves.


Students entering 7th Grade to 10th Grade ​​​(Ages 12 to 15)

  • Full Day Session: Monday to Friday (9 am - 4 pm) for one week
  • Morning-Only Session: Monday to Friday (9 am - 12 noon) for one week
