Building Access (non-holiday access)

Please note the hours of operation for each of the following campus buildings. *These hours may be altered at times to accommodate special university events, special lab hours, etc. For access to facilities after hours, please contact Police personnel in Suite 118-North of the One Main Building or call 713-221-8065. Access to the Police Department is available 24 hours a day.

One Main Building
Monday-Thursday: 5:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.*
Friday: 5:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Saturday: 5:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Academic Building

*On Sundays, most entrances to One Main are closed. Enter the building through the Police Station off Girard Street. Then take the elevators in the North Lobby to Floor 4. Girard Street metered parking located under I-10 is free on Sundays.

Building Access (Holiday Periods)

A reminder to students, faculty and staff that during holiday(s) periods, access to the University of Houston-Downtown (One Main Building & Academic Building) is limited through the UHD Police Department. All person(s) entering are requested to sign in and out.

Access to the Student Life Center, Commerce Street Building and Shea Street Building, during holiday period(s), is limited to faculty/staff with valid access codes to enter such facility. UHD Police will not provide access codes to faculty/staff to enter these facilities for any reason including codes misplaced and/or forgotten. Hours vary by semester.
