Resources for HUB Vendors

A Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) is a for-profit entity that has not exceeded the size standards prescribed by 34 TAC §20.23, and has its principal place of business in Texas, AND is at least 51% owned by an Asian Pacific American, African American, Hispanic American, Native American, American women and/or Service Disabled Veteran, who resides in Texas and actively participates in the control, operations and management of the entity's affairs.

To determine whether your entity qualifies as a HUB, you must complete a HUB application through the Comptroller’s Office. Those who qualify will be listed in the Comptroller’s online HUB directory. HUB certification is free and valid for four years when obtained directly from the Comptroller’s Office. Vendors may also receive state HUB certification through a local government or nonprofit organization, though these certifications may need to be renewed more often.
