  1. What is Personal Training?

Personal Training is one-on-one instruction that incorporates fitness assessments, goal setting, exercise skills and health education all into challenging workouts designed for your individual needs.

  2. What should I wear to my first session/consultation?

Come to the first session dressed to work out – make sure to wear tennis shoes. The fitness assessments may cause you to break a sweat. You should feel comfortable in whatever you choose to wear.

  3. What happens during the initial consultation?

Your first session with a trainer is crucial to setting you up for success, by creating a unique program that fits your lifestyle and health goals. That’s why your COMPLIMENTARY consultation is so important! The majority of your initial consultation will be spent discussing your exercise and health history and outlining your fitness goals.

It will also include fitness assessments to establish your baseline fitness level in the areas of cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength/endurance, flexibility, and body composition. Establishing your baseline fitness levels is of utmost importance for your trainer. He/she will use this information to tailor an exercise program to meet your individual needs, as well as to track your progress.

  4. What happens in a typical personal training session?

Generally, the first few sessions are spent working out the kinks in the workout- establishing weights and time limits. But don’t let this discourage you! It’s just the way Personal Training operates, to ensure that you get the results you are aiming for. It takes time to understand your capabilities and limitations.

Each session and each workout will build upon your first few sessions. You should wear comfortable workout apparel to each session, as you will be exercising. Keep in mind if you are already very fit and don’t struggle with motivation, we’ll push those muscles right away!

  5. What if I need to reschedule or cancel a training session?

If you need to reschedule any of your training sessions, you’ll need to contact your trainer a minimum of 24-hours prior to your scheduled session. If your trainer does not receive at least a 24-hour notice of your cancellation, you will be charged for that session.

Our trainers are busy and their time is important, as is yours. Therefore, we extend the same courtesy of a 24-hour reschedule notice to you!  After all, things come up that are not always planned and we understand that better than anyone!

  6. How long are personal training sessions?

    We offer 60-minute sessions.

  7. Do sessions expire?

Yes, sessions must be used within 6 months of purchase.

  8. What should I do if I'm going to be late for my personal training session?

If you are going to be late to meet your trainer, you must contact him/her directly. Be aware that your training session will only proceed for the remaining time of your session.

If you are more than 15 minutes late without notice, you will be considered a no-show and will be charged for the session.

  9. How do I get started?
