Classroom Support

The Multimedia staff oversees the operation and maintenance of all general use classrooms, lecture halls, Willow Street Pump Station and the Cullen Auditorium. Many classrooms are equipped with permanently installed presentation equipment: teaching podium with computer, document camera and DVD player, and a ceiling mounted video/data projector. The Multimedia staff provides regularly scheduled training on how to use classroom technology. Instruction is also provided on an as needed basis. The Multimedia staff checks all classrooms weekly, performs testing of operating systems and conducts preventative maintenance on equipment. If you should encounter problems with classroom equipment, please let us know by completing the form.

Multimedia Equipment Distribution

Multimedia Services maintains an inventory of presentation and production equipment which can be checked out to faculty and staff for classroom instruction and administrative presentations. Media carts, LCD projectors, LCD monitor carts, laptops, digital camcorders and digital cameras are among the items that can be reserved by completing the Multimedia Equipment Reservation form, or by contacting the Multimedia Office, room ACAD 725, telephone:713-221-8190. Multimedia equipment is not available for checkout by students. Faculty are requested to schedule any equipment required for classroom student presentations. Equipment reservations should be made 24 hours prior to the time it is needed. Faculty or staff wishing to use Multimedia equipment off-campus must have the approval of the Multimedia Coordinator and the approval of their direct supervisor.

The Multimedia/VPDS staff is available to assist faculty and staff in selecting equipment which will best meet their instruction or presentation needs. They can also help you plan and design a facility upgrade, or suggest the names of vendors.

Duplication and Lamination Services

The Multimedia offers audio and video duplication services to any modern media formats and lamination services starting at.75¢ per foot.  Customers can pay online for these and other services including commencement videos. Note:The Multimedia office abides by national copyright policies. Customers must provide proof of ownership and or permission prior to contracting for any duplication services.

Poster Printing

The Multimedia office in conjunction with the IT User Support staff provides large format HP Poster Printing. Faculty and staff can create high quality color posters for use in class presentations and for marketing campus activities and special events for a fee. Clients should allow a minimum of 2 to 4 days advance notice when placing all poster orders.
