Epidemic is a word typically used to characterize the spread of infectious diseases in communities. However, in recent times, there’s been a shifting focus on how loneliness has reached epidemic levels – across generations, geographies, and cultures. More people are feeling lonely, isolated, and disconnected, with stark physical and emotional consequences. This is not a new phenomenon, but there is an untold story surfacing around the extent and pervasiveness of its impact. Loneliness can occur to married couples, within families, within communities, and inside school classrooms. It can happen to virtually anyone, anywhere. Want to learn more about how this phenomenon can be impacting you? Your children? Your relationships?

You matter!

You matter in this world. Even if this world is full of challenges, chaos, and confusion, you matter! In this mindfulness movement workshop, participants will review the State of the Heart Report for 2022 from Six Seconds Emotional Intelligence Network. We will explore stressors that you may be experiencing through mindfulness breathing and movement activities to alleviate or minimalize those stressors. The participants will explore where they feel these emotions in their bodies.

Come as you are from your classes or work. We will use mindfulness breathing and active yoga movements to reduce stress that you may be feeling. Use these strategies in academic settings such as testing, homework, writing, presentations to be their most effective in their work. We will use creative methods such as writing, drawing, movement to find ways to restore your body back to who you are because, You Matter!
