WHAT IS A SUPPORT GROUP?
GatorSUPPORT Groups provide a safe and supportive environment for students to share thoughts and feelings, increase self-awareness, give and receive feedback, gain skills and resources and learn new ways to cope with personal challenges. Support group participants often find that they feel less alone in their struggles and often benefit from the mutual support and learning that occurs in the support group setting.
All groups are confidential and free for actively enrolled UHD students for the current semester.

Are you encountering obstacles you did not anticipate during your transition to college? Are you struggling to feel happy, comfortable, or confident in the college environment? If so, the
Adjusting to College GatorSUPPORT Group is for you! Nearly every student encounters some obstacles they did not anticipate during the transition to college. Starting college is often an adjustment and while the changes can be exciting, they can also come with a variety of emotions like sadness, loneliness, and worry. These feelings are typical and part of the transition to college, but for some they can become overwhelming and get in the way of their success. While operating in a safe and supportive environment, this drop-in group will navigate topics like managing increased personal freedom and responsibility, adjusting to new college surroundings and unfamiliar people, handling changing relationships with family and friends, and coping with difficult emotions.
