When is the Commencement Ceremony?
UHD’s 75th Commencement Ceremony honoring our undergraduate and graduate students will take place on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the Berry Center located at 8877 Barker Cypress Rd. in Cypress, Texas. The Fall Commencement Ceremony is reserved for our Summer and Fall 2023 graduating students only.
What time does the ceremony start?
There will be two ceremonies split by academic college, please find your graduate’s college below to see their ceremony time.Doors will open for guests one hour before each ceremony.First Ceremony - 10:30 a.m.

Second Ceremony - 3:30 p.m.Colleges Represented:

- College of Sciences and Technology
Where do I park?
Complimentary parking will be available at the Berry Center for students, guests, faculty, and staff.
- Students will be directed to park in lot D.
- Guests (and students if carpooling) will park in lots A or B.

Are individual names read at the ceremony?
Names are read in alphabetical order at the ceremony.
How long is the ceremony?
The ceremony lasts about three hours. This time can vary based on the number of students in attendance and remarks from speakers. Indicating participation requires a commitment to remain in your seat until the conclusion of the commencement ceremony. Security and ushers on the floor will not allow students to leave the ceremony early.
Will guests need a ticket to attend the ceremony?
Yes, guests are required to have a ticket to attend the ceremony.Visit the ticket information page for more details.
Will the ceremony be available online?
Yes, the Commencement Ceremony will be streamed live. You can view the steam on UHD’s Facebook page.
Can I bring a bag to the ceremony?
The Berry Center enforces a clear bag policy. Students and guests will not be allowed to enter the Berry Center with a non-conforming bag. All bags and purses may be subject to search upon entrance. Students and guests will be asked to return items to their vehicle if it does not meet the guidelines.PROHIBITED ITEMSBy state law, alcohol and tobacco products, including vapes and e-cigarettes are prohibited.The following items are not permitted in the Berry Center.No weapons (open/concealed carry prohibited), no outside food or drinks, no signs or banners, no strollers, no flowers, no air horns or noise makers, no balloons, no gifts.Items not allowed past security will require guests and students to return them to their cars, or they will not be allowed in.
