Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences in Applied Administration General Scholarship

Award
$500 per semester year for textbooks
Eligibility
  • Must be a declared major in the BAAS-AA program with degree plan on file
  • Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 hours at UHD in the intended Fall or Spring term of the award
  • Must be in good standing at the university
  • Must have demonstrated leadership qualities

Please place your completed application AND required supporting material in one large envelope, and submit to Dean's Office, 655 South.

BS-ISS General Scholarship

Award
$500 per semester
Eligibility
  • Must be a declared major in the BS IS program
  • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or greater at UHD
  • Must be in good standing at the university and preference may be given to applicants based on number of hours at UHD, anticipated graduation date, completion of a minor, financial need, and student cohort group.
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 hours at UHD in the intended term of the award

International Association of Administrative Professionals—Houston Chapter Scholarship Application

Award
$500 awarded in Fall and Spring
Eligibility
  • Preference given to applicants who are currently employed as administrative professionals or considering a career as an administrative professional. Also preference may be given to those who demonstrate financial need.
  • Applicants must submit a statement regarding their personal perspective on the impact of administrative assistants on corporate America [200 words maximum] and letter of application plus resume.
  • Must be a major in Applied Administration [BAAS-AA] or Interdisciplinary Studies [BS IS]
  • Must enroll for 9 (nine) or more credit hours in the semester of the award.
  • Must be US citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater at UHD.

Submit completed application and documentation by 5:00pm on July 1 (Fall) or Nov 1 (Spring)


Educational Talent Search Program Scholarship

Award
$500 per semester year (Fall or Spring) for textbooks
Eligibility
  • Must be a declared major.
  • Must have completed 60 hours of college credit at UHD at time of application.
  • Have an overall GPA of 2.5 or greater
  • Must be currently enrolled in at least 6 hours at UHD in the intended Fall or Spring term of the award.
  • Must be in good standing at the university.
  • Must have been a member of the University of Houston-Downtown Educational Talent Search Program during their senior year in high school.

Hamman Scholarships

Award
Applicants may request up to $1000 per semester
Eligibility

Students in the University Honors Program may apply to receive additional financial support through the Hamman Scholarship. These funds are very limited and applicants must reapply each semester. At the end of the scholarship semester, the student will be required to submit a reflection to the Hamman Foundation focused on their academic goals and experience in the University Honors Program.

  • Students must be currently enrolled in the University Honors Program
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • During the semester for which funds are requested:
    • First or Second year Honors students must be enrolled in at least 15hrs
    • Third or Fourth year students must be enrolled in at least 12 hrs

Applications will be reviewed by the Honors Council and the director of the University Honors Program. Applicants may be asked to provide additional information related to their requests either in writing or in person. As part of their application, all applicants must submit a well-developed essay in response to the following questions:
How will the requested funds contribute to your academic success this semester? By what standard should the scholarship committee measure your success?
