Scholars Academy Scholarship
Award: 150+ Scholarships of up to $5,000 per academic year
Eligibility:
For high school senior applicants:
Minimum un-weighted overall 3.0 GPA overall (on a 4.0 scale)
Minimum score of 450 on SAT math and verbal sections; or equivalency on other standardized exams
Credit for at least pre-calculus in high school preferred
For transfer applicants or current UHD students
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in college within last 4-5 years

Urban Education Scholarship
Award: This scholarship is designed to help support students in the teacher education program at the University of Houston-Downtown. Specifically, the scholarship will assist students with course and textbook fees during any one (1) of the three (3) semesters in which they are taking their Professional Development Sequence; that being the two semesters in which they are serving as interns in public schools and the one semester in which they are student teaching. A student may receive the scholarship for one semester. Awards are based on available funds and should not be expected as a matter of course.
