Buffalo Bayou Service Project (BBSP)Each year departments
across UHD participate in the annual Buffalo Bayou Service Project. This
campus-wide project was created to help Houston-area high school
students gain a better understanding of the importance of Buffalo Bayou.
High school students are led through a series of activities created by
different academic departments and guided by UHD student volunteers. The
day culminates in a boat ride and tour of the bayou itself. BBSP
typically occurs the Friday closest to Earth Day each year.
If your high school campus is interested in participating in the next BBSP, please contact CCESL at CCESL@uhd.edu. | |
Community Engagement ShowcaseEach year CCESL
celebrates the work of students, faculty and staff at UHD by holding a
showcase to present their work to their colleagues. Typically, this
showcase is held in conjunction with the Center for Teaching and
Learning Excellence's (CTLE) High Impact Practices (HIPs) showcase. The
showcase is a great way for students to get practice presenting their work both inside the classroom and in the community.
