The Employee Relations Office serves the UHD community with professional, discrete and timely counsel regarding problem resolution, information sharing, policy interpretation and other matters related to employment concerns. We are committed to:
Ensure workplace issues are handled effectively and expediently in order to remove barriers to successful job performance and foster a positive work environment.
Interpret policies and procedures to assist UHD's managers and employees with inquiries and policy application.
Provide third-party objective solutions to problems or concerns, such as work performance issues, communication difficulties, claims of harassment and mistreatment, among other concerns.
Facilitate and help maintain UHD's business relationships through one-on-one coaching, mediation, consultation, facilitation and training.
- Partner with employees and managers to identify, objectively measure and successfully manage performance outcomes.
Provide expert HR professional consultancy regarding complex federal, state and local employment laws that may affect UHD employment.
Investigate charges of misconduct from faculty, staff and students.
Advise all employees and managers about their employment rights and responsibilities.
