Job Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist provides assistance in the recruitment and employment functions.

Duties

  • Coordinates and edits advertisement for external recruiting
  • Processes background checks on new and transferring employees
  • Assists with new employee orientation sessions
  • Processes new employee sign-up paperwork
  • Initiates the pre-hire process for faculty, students, and temps
  • Maintains a complete record of the hiring/selection process
  • Creates and posts positions in applicant tracking system and screens employment applications
  • Assists applicants with completing online applications and answers questions regarding the employment process
  • Maintains MVR eligibility roster

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Minimum of 60 hours of completed college course work

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of job-related experience

License/Certification:

  • Must maintain a valid, current driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with an applicant tracking system is preferred
  • Ability to speak Spanish

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the recruitment and employee onboarding process and the related trends, issues, and accepted practices

Skills:

  • Good technical skills, including proficiency in MS Office and PeopleSoft;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Good organization skills

Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse university community

Work Location and Physical Demands

Primary Work Location:

  • Works in an office environment, classroom, training room, auditorium, and library environment

Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements;
  • Individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks
  • Must have the ability to move items of up to 25lbs
