Job Summary

The Manager, Communications and Compliance develops, writes and edits all written public-facing HR communications, including website, executive, social media, blog, newsletter and video content as well as creates and implements strategic campaigns. The Manager assesses, analyzes, researches, plans, and collaborates with relevant stakeholders on Communications and Compliance initiatives.

Duties

  • Writes HR communications to include the blog, employee newsletter, manager newsletter, website, executive communications, miscellaneous projects, social media and video content.
  • Leads the planning and implementation of strategic HR communications campaigns and projects.
  • Works with relevant stakeholders to develop communication strategy and campaigns.
  • Edits self-created and ESO associate communications for the division.
  • Manages the creation of division graphic design materials,
  • Manages the division's WordPress sites
  • Manages the division's institutional compliance and assessment and accreditation reporting.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related job experience

License/Certification:

  • None Required

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR or internal communications experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of best practices for producing a wide variety of media internal communications assets
  • Knowledge of programs in Adobe Creative Cloud, such as Photoshop and InDesign
  • Knowledge of WordPress

Skills:

  • Good technical skills, including graphic design skills
  • Strong writing, editing and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Abilities:

  • Ability to learn new software
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to understand the principles of Compliance, as they pertain to a higher education setting.

Work Location and Physical Demands

Primary Work Location:

  • Works in an office environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements Individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks.
  • Must have precise hand-eye coordination, good spatial awareness, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Must have the ability to move items of up to 25lbs.
