Job Summary
The Financial Aid Counselor I assists prospective and current students with all matters related to acquiring and maintaining financial aid.
Duties
- Participates and collaborates in outreach activities and special events planning
- Creates, organizes, maintains, and promotes financial aid information
- Advises students of the financial aid process and procedures
- Responds to students' questions and concerns

- Minimum of one (1) year of related job experience

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the financial aid process in a higher education environment, and of the related trends, issues, and practices
Skills:
- Good technical skills, including proficiency in MS Publisher and Outlook; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community

- Work is performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements; individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks
