Job Summary

The Director, Career Development Center manages and oversees the strategic planning, development, and implementation of all aspects of a comprehensive, student-centered career-development facility for students and alumni within the College of Humanities & Social Sciences, College of Public Service, College of Sciences & Technology, and University College.

Duties

  • Oversees all departmental operations, including budgets, personnel, planning, and marketing career events, programs, and services.
  • Ensures that all departmental staff are suitably trained.
  • Collaborates with Academic, Student Affairs, and Enrollment Management administrators, faculty, and staff to develop, plan, and implement program opportunities to promote career awareness and prepare students for life inside and outside the classroom.
  • Builds relationships and communicates with industry and community leaders to promote employment and internship opportunities for students; works to increase the quality and quantity of internship opportunities for students.
  • Creates involvement opportunities for students within the university.
  • Coaches, counsels, and provides resources to students and alumni; assists students to develop career goals and to understand the relationship between in-class, extracurricular, and experience-based learning.
  • Conducts class presentations, workshops, events, and large and small group sessions as required.
  • Develops and maintains information systems for managing records and data.
  • Generates reports; develops career outcomes assessments, policies, and procedures; analyzes information for use in planning SACSCOC Accreditation.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Master's degree

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of related job experience

License/Certification:

  • Must maintain a valid, current driver's license

Work Location and Physical Demands
