Scope of Responsibilities
At UHD, Dr. Flint is responsible for overseeing student services for over 20 science, technology, engineering and mathematics degree programs in order to facilitate retention and graduation of students from the college. She develops and assists in implementing improved procedures and services to enhance students' experience. Dr. Flint processes and approves degree modifications, graduation applications and degree certifications as well as advises students on academic probation and suspension. She creates, implements and analyzes student satisfaction surveys for majors. She develops and coordinates outreach efforts related to college degree programs. Dr. Flint provides academic advising to students who have been accepted into a major within the college and promotes student self-responsibility in defining and achieving their educational goals.
Dr. Flint earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacology from the University of Michigan; Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.
RaShonda Flint's experience includes a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and over 10 years of higher education experience including supervising, with extensive academic preparation of STEM students from diverse backgrounds. She has provided leadership in student policies and procedures and also developed innovative educational programs and academic services. Dr. Flint previously oversaw a STEM program that provided support and assistance in student development, retention and the success of all students and also dealt with various university committees and outreach efforts.
