Scope of Responsibilities
At UHD, Ms. Cuevas is responsible for supervising and advising staff for COB students (2,800, in 2014), drafting degree plans and evaluating transfer credits. She assists in course selection and sequencing, advising and mentoring students, reviewing and approving graduation applications and audits for Catalogue compliance. She reviews Probation/ Suspension appeals for COB students at risk. Ms. Cuevas trains pre-business & transfer advisors and determines nominees for Beta Gamma Sigma and scholarships. She also serves on various University-wide and College Committees, including Hiring Manager of professional staff.
Ms. Cuevas earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Boston College Law School and Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Texas. Her certifications include: Member of State Bar of Texas and Teaching Certificates, Texas and Massachusetts.
Mary Cuevas has been an educator since 1973. She has served as a College Lecturer since 1994 and worked in College Administration as far back as 1976. Ms. Cuevas has also served as an Attorney and Counselor at Law since May 1980.
