Scope of Responsibilities
As Assistant Dean, Dr. Villegas works together with the Associate Dean, Advisors, Advising Center, Degree coordinators and Chairs to accomplish the mission and purpose of the College. She is responsible for coordinating, recruiting, retention activities and professional development training activities for all UHD advisors. Dr. Villegas plans and represents the College and central advising with planning activities. Additionally, she oversees, reconciles and verifies student records via the student information system as well as process and maintains student records for new and continuing students in the College.
Dr. Villegas earned a Ph.D. from Baylor College of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston-Downtown.
Dr. Villegas’ higher education experience began as an Adjunct Professor at the University of St. Thomas during her graduate studies at Baylor College of Medicine. Upon completion of her graduate work, she UHD as a lead lecturer in Biology, Anatomy and Physiology as well as serve as a mentor and academic advisor to her students.
