Scope of Responsibilities
At UHD, Dr. Ryden is responsible for monitoring enrollment and course offering data to ensure smart course scheduling in the College. He monitors and shares academic program data. He coordinates and edits College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) portions of catalog, both graduate and undergraduate. Dr. Ryden also coordinates the processing of articulation requests made by transfer students. He directs the College's curriculum support committee and reviews course substitution requests. Dr. Ryden coordinates the development and execution of CHSS graduate program procedures and develops, edits and updates the CHSS Graduate Student Handbook. He also ensures disbursement of CHSS scholarships as well as completes tasks directed by the dean.
Dr. Ryden earned his Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Minnesota, Master of Arts from the University of Delaware and Bachelor of Arts from Connecticut College.
Dr. Ryden has extensive experience in higher education. He served as Coordinator of the History Program where he coordinated program ambitions, which were laid out in annual reporting to SACSCOC. Dr. Ryden's experience also includes work as an Assistant and Associate Professor during his tenure at UHD.
