Scope of Responsibilities
Carrie Hays manages UHD Talent Search and the facilitation of a college preparatory program for economically disadvantaged and first generation middle and high school students. In her role, she manages Talent Search staff employees, ensures program and budget compliance, provides advisement in various college preparatory subjects and prepares and annual performance report for the Department of Education. She also manages compliance with established rules and regulations, assists with the planning and implementation of college and cultural enrichment trips and a summer enrichment program and interacts extensively with customers, vendors, regulatory bodies and other institutions.
Ms. Hays earned her Master of Science in Management from Trevecca Nazarene University and Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Northwest Nazarene University.
Ms. Hays has more than 11 years of experience working in youth development and higher education with underrepresented populations. Five of those years she worked in partnership with the Aldine Independent School District to provide a federally funded college preparatory program for first generation and economically disadvantaged students.
