Scope of Responsibilities

For the Marilyn Davies College of Business, Ms. McElyea directs and oversees financial, human resources, grant administration activities and operations, including reviewing and approving expenditures and personnel documents. She also is responsible for the oversight of 200+ cost centers from seven different revenue streams including budgets from gifts, endowments and grants. Ms. Elyea also is responsible for annual budget preparations, serving as a resource for deans, department chairs, directors, faculty and principal investigators regarding strategic financial and administrative matters. Additionally, she is a resource to interpret the adherence for state, federal, University, College policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

Educational Qualifications

Ms. McElyea earned a Master of Business Administration at University of Houston-Clear Lake and a bachelor’s degree in Management from The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Professional Experience

Ms. McElyea brings 20-plus years of progressive business management experience. Strategic experience in budgeting, financials, forecasting, human resources, internal controls, administration and operations management, process improvement, project management.
