Academic Affairs – College, Departmental, and Distance Education Offices and Services

Virtual services, except for mission critical work.

Administrative staff may be required to come to campus in order to perform technical work in labs or perform administrative duties.

Distance Education sites (e.g. UHD Northwest, HCC Coleman Campus, LSC-Kingwood, and LSC-CyFair) must also negotiate existing protocols at the host sites.

Virtual services, but some limited campus engagement and offices open in order to support “Step 2 - Orange” services including in-person classes.

Primary administrative suites (Provost Office, Deans’ Offices, Departmental Offices) will have at least one person on campus to assist students, staff, and faculty during normal business hours.

Administrative offices are open (likely with reduced in- person staffing) during normal business hours to support “Step 3 - Yellow” services, including in-person classes and faculty needs.

All other administrative services are delivered remotely or by appointment when possible or necessary.

Academic Affairs – Library

Primarily virtual services, with limited on-campus hours to provide access to computer labs and specific item retrieval by appointment. Open study space available on 4th Floor North.

Primarily virtual operations, with on-campus open hours through the business week. Some evening and weekend hours provided.

Some services will be limited due to restrictions under COVID-19 conditions.

Virtual operations continue as needed. Face-to-face access to library spaces expanded to include study spaces, with evening and weekend hours are increased.

Social distancing and safety guidelines still in effect in computer labs and study spaces, with appointments encouraged and walk-in users monitored to ensure safety restrictions. Access to the stacks area is still limited to library staff – students and faculty must work with library staff regarding research and finding/collecting items.

Face to face operations resume at normal levels, with a resumption of normal operating hours.

Academic Affairs - College of Public Service, Criminal Justice Training Center

Limited in-person training sessions to meet mission-critical instructional needs. All approvals must be obtained in advance. Safety protocol compliance is overseen by College of Public Service.

These limited mission critical activities must be approved in advance by the Associate Vice President for Faculty, Research & Sponsored Programs.

All services available virtually; limited, controlled onsite activity by key personnel on an as-needed basis.

University College – Academic Advising

Virtual services, with possible exceptions for critical activities related to registration and advisement. These limited mission critical activities must be approved in advance by the Dean of University College.

Most services will continue in virtual formats with limited face-to-face appointments, as needed and as determined by the Dean of University College.

Registration and advisement events—where groups of students are expected to congregate for extended periods of time—are held virtually.

Limited and specific onsite small-scale activity to support registration and advisement may be conducted with the approval of the Dean of University College.

University College – Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence

Virtual services, with limited exceptions for pre-approved, limited and specific mission critical activities related to faculty trainings and support as isolated events. These limited mission critical activities must be approved in advance by Dean of University College.

All services (meetings, drop-in hours, trainings) will continue virtually with limited face-to-face in-person support for faculty by appointment only.

Expand services to in-person by appointment based on available in-person staffing; all services remain available virtually as well.

Normal services resume.

University College – Academic Support Center (Math/Writing lab)

Virtual services.

All services will continue virtually with limited on-campus support for students by appointment only.

All services will continue virtually with increased on-campus staffing for in-person support to students, still requiring appointments, though drop-in hours may be available within allowable density and following health and safety protocols.

Administrative suite/office will have at least one person on campus to assist students, staff, and faculty during normal business hours.

University College – Gator Success Center

Virtual services.

All services will continue virtually with limited on-campus support for students by appointment only.
