Upward Bound Summer Academy

The Upward Bound Summer Academy at the University of Houston-Downtown is an extremely rewarding pre-college experience for high school students. It is an intensive, six-week, non-residential program, which all members of the Upward Bound community are expected to attend.

The program starts early June and finishes at the end of July. The Summer Academy itself is very scheduled, and is geared to create a sense of community. During this time, Upward Bound students spend their weekdays on the University of Houston-Downtown campus. Summer Academy classes are scheduled for Monday through Thursdays and local field trip activities are scheduled for each Friday. At the end of the Summer Academy, students are selected to attend the "End of the Year" Field Trip.
