The Walter O. Mason Texas TRiO Scholarship ​is no longer accepting responses.

Personal Statement Topic for both Collegiate and Pre- Collegiate Students: Write a personal statement explaining how TRIO has changed your life and how TRIO is preparing you or has prepared you to reach your future goals. Format: Typed, one-inch margins, double spaced with a 12pt font, Times New Roman. Include applicant's name, TRIO project, and institution as a header or a title on each page. Minimum of one page; maximum of two pages, double spaced.

ESSAY Topic for both Collegiate and Pre- Collegiate Students: Write an essay which highlights a social issue occurring in Texas. In this paper, you must use the “What, So What, Now What?" model to explain the problem, as well as the implications this issue has on​ the community and provide suggestions to help alleviate or solve this issue. Supporting Documents Needed

  • Transcript with GPA
  • Official financial aid documentation showing EFC or Student Aid Report (SAR)
  • Recommendation Letter 1 (TRIO Personnel, does NOT need to be TRIO Director)​
  • Recommendation Letter 2 (Non-Trio Personnel)

Scholarship application deadline is ​May 1st.​ No late applications will be accepted.
