The Honors Program celebrates academic excellence and engages highly motivated students from across the University through its support of interdisciplinary honor societies. These affiliated honor societies complement the mission of the Honors Program and encourage members to develop as leaders, participate in service learning experiences and engage with the University community.
Alpha Lambda Delta
Alpha Lambda Delta is an honor society for full-time students in their first academic year of college. The organization recognizes students who have:
- Earned 12 or more credits in their first semester.
- Maintained a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Placed in the top 20 percent of their freshman class.
The UHD chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta is a thriving campus organization. In 2014, the chapter was one of five in the nation to receive the Order of the Torch, the highest honor extended by the national council.
Golden Key International
Golden Key International Honour Society membership is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors
- In the top 15 percent of their class
- Meet minimum GPA requirements (varies by class and year, typically 3.3 or higher)
The mission of Golden Key is to unlock the potential of its members with its commitment to academics, leadership and service. Annually, members benefit from access to more than $1 million in scholarships and opportunities to participate in regional, national and international summits.
