​Dr. Jiang has a Ph.D. in Chemistry and is a tenured faculty of Chemistry. His area of expertise is the creation and evaluation of chemical sensors for biological molecules. As such he has numerous research projects in material sciences which overlap both biology and chemistry and he takes undergraduate research students in both majors (BIOL 3300 and CHEM 3300). Dr. Jiang was on faculty leave for a portion of the fall semester so these courses represented students working with him both before and after his leave.  Dr. Jiang has an active research program at UHD and he has mentored over 100 undergraduate research students since coming here. Dr. Jiang was also a 2012
