I teach introductory chemistry courses for both science and non-science majors. My teaching style emphasizes active learning, hands on experience and real-life applications of the concepts covered in the classes. I have a background in science education and biotechnology R&D, designing new molecules for bio-imaging and cancer research. I also have a strong interest in quality control and quality assurance and the incorporation of these quality concepts into the classroom. My research interest are towards the area of organometallic chemistry and the synthesis and charactherization of novel compounds containing nitrogen cyclo-compounds such as cyclam and cyclen.

Academic Interest

My academic interest are that the students get hands on experience on instrumentation and that they are able to think scientifically and critically.
I am not currently doing research at UHD, however, I am interesting in developing novel macrocyclics molecules similar to cyclam and cyclen that could be used for imaging and/or cancer research applications. It will involve synthesis and characterization of compounds using different organic and inorganic procedures.
