Dr. Quander is an Associate Professor of Mathematics Education in the Mathematics and Statistics Department at UHD. She earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of Georgia in 2006, an MS in Mathematics from the University of Arizona in 2000 and BS in Mathematics and BA in Plan II from University of Texas at Austin in 1998. She currently teaches elementary and secondary mathematics content courses and other undergraduate mathematics courses at UHD. She is the PI for three NSF Noyce grants at UHD.
Dr.Sack taught mathematics and science courses at the middle and high school levels for 18 years before moving into her public school district’s curriculum department as a math specialist. At that time she was working toward her doctoral degree in math education and also served as the manager for an NSF-funded high school mathematics leadership institute, helping high school teachers develop into teacher leaders. Since 2009, she has been a faculty member of UHD’s Urban Education Department, teaching math methods courses to pre-service and in-service teachers across the K-12 grade span.
