What is the Mission of the Collaboratory for Aging Resources and Education (CARE)?

Through connection, consultation, training, research, and advocacy, the Collaboratory for Aging Resources and Education (CARE) promotes issues impacting older adults, policies that support heathy aging, and a better trained senior services workforce.

What is the Vision of the Collaboratory for Aging Resources and Education (CARE)?

CARE will be the premier resource in the Houston/Harris County area for information and resources pertaining to older adults, caregivers, and the people who work with them.

How can CARE help you?

If you are:

  • an older adult or caregiver, you need help, and you don’t know where to start
  • a professional looking for information and training on older adult issues…
  • a UHD student, faculty, or staff member who wants to participate in engaging volunteer projects with older adults…

If you:

  • need data about the older adult population in Harris County…
  • are a UHD faculty member who wants to incorporate aging-related topics into your course…
  • want to consult with experts about programs for older adults and caregivers

CARE’s Current Project

Nearly 1 in 7 Harris County residents are ages 60 and older, but as a community, we do not know much about how the population is doing. In 2021, CARE will issue The State of Harris County’s Older Adults, a baseline report with information on key demographic and social trends.
