UHD Off Campus FAQ

Q​​uestion: Is UHD accredited?

Answer: Yes, UHD has regional accreditation from the Southern Association Colleges and Schools. In addition, some UHD programs are accredited by various international, national and special accrediting bodies.

Question: Is th​​ere a bookstore at the distance education campus?

Answer: Yes, each distance education campus has a bookstore. You may purchase your UHD books at the campus you are attending. Please visit the bookstore website for store hours and contact information

Question: How​​ can I view courses that are offered at the distance education campus?

Answer: The UHD Class Schedule is available online through myUHD 2.0. Under "Location" select your desired campus.

Question: What is joint admission?

Answer: UHD has created a joint admission partnership with Lone Star College and Houston Community College, to help you make the transition into a four-year university. Joint admission allows a student to be simultaneously admitted and co-enrolled at both UHD and Lone Star College. As a Joint Admission student, you will receive advising from UHD counselors while you are a community/junior college student. Along with a transfer guide for your planned major, you will have all the information you need to complete your bachelor's degree most efficiently. Question: How do ​​I obtain a joint admission agreement?

Financial​​​ Aid FAQ

Question: Is there a UHD Financial Aid office at the distance education campus?

Answer: There is not a Financial Aid office at any of the distance education campus. However, UHD Financial Aid advisors visit each distance education site to counsel students each semester. Please call 713-237-5400 for information.

​​Question: What is a consortium agreement?

Answer: A Consortium Agreement is a written agreement between two eligible schools. This agreement allows a student to be co-enrolled at UHD and another institution and receive financial aid based on the combined enrollment hours at both institutions.

The Home School is the school where the student is seeking their degree and is the college that will award the financial aid for them.

The Host School is where the student temporarily takes courses that will transfer back to their home school. The courses taken at the host school must be applicable toward the student's degree at UHD.

Question: What are the Northwest hours of operation?

Answer: Due to COVID-19 the UHD Northwest office hours have changed. Please call 713-237-5400 or email NWAdvising@uhd.edu to confirm the current office hours.  

Question: ​Do I need to schedule an appointment to meet with a Northwest advisor?

Answer: While no appointment is required, you are highly encouraged to contact an advisor to schedule one. If you're a current UHD student you may schedule an appointment through Navigate. You may find instructions on scheduling an appointment here. If you're a prospective student you may email us NWAdvising@uhd.edu to schedule an appointment. 

​Question: Is a parking permit required at the Northwest Campus?

Answer: No, a parking permit is not required for UHD Northwest. Due to COVID-19 students are currently being asked to park in the surface lot off Compaq Center Drive West.

Question​: Do I need to schedule an appointment with a Cy-Fair campus advisor?

Answer: While no appointment is required, you are encouraged to contact an advisor to schedule one. To schedule an appointment please contact Kimberly Constantine at constantinek@uhd.edu.

Answer: University of Houston-Downtown offers the following degree programs at this location:      

  • Core Subjects EC-6 with Bilingual Supplemental, B.A.E. 
  • Core Subjects EC-6 with ESL Supplemental, B.A.E. 

Question: Is a parking​ permit required at the Cy-Fair Campus?

Answer: No, a parking permit is not required. 

Question​​: What are the Kingwood hours of operation?

Answer: Due to COVID-19 Kingwood office hours have changed. Please call 713-237-5480 or email Mandy Danley at danleym@uhd.edu to confirm current office hours.  

Question: Do I need to sched​​ule an appointment with a Kingwood campus advisor?

Question: Is a parkin​g permit required at Kingwood?

Answer: No, a parking permit is not required. Students should not park in designated faculty areas. 

Question: What deg​rees or programs are offered at the Kingwood Campus?

Answer: University of Houston-Downtown offers the following degree programs at this location:
